Light Cavalry + Monks for Relic Control
Concept:
The goal is to reach the Castle Age quickly (25+2 villagers) and use Light Cavalry to control the map while monks collect relics. This strategy is ideal for civilizations with a strong late game and economy, such as Burgundians, Turks, Bohemians, and Bengalis.
Execution:
Dark Age:
-
6 villagers to food (sheep)
-
4 villagers to wood (build a lumber camp)
-
Build a mill on berries as soon as you have 100 wood, then send 4 villagers to berries
-
Lure deer whenever possible
-
Make 3 farms when you have enough wood
-
Continue sending villagers to food until you reach 19 villagers
-
Send the next 4 villagers to wood (build a second lumber camp)
-
Send the next 2 villagers to gold
-
Research Loom and advance to the Feudal Age
Feudal Age Transition:
-
Move 3 villagers from sheep to straggler trees
-
Your economy should look like this:

-
2 villagers on gold
-
The rest gathering food under the Town Center
-

-
Start producing Scouts immediately and train 1 Spearman for protection
-
Once sheep are finished, move villagers to straggler trees
Castle Age:
-
Research Light Cavalry upgrade
-
Build a Monastery and produce monks to collect relics
-
Add an extra Town Center (TC) when possible
-
Continue adding farms until you can consistently produce villagers before investing in an other TC on stone
-
Research economic upgrades and add a 4th TC when feasible
-
Use any leftover monks to harass the enemy by positioning them near their walls
Summary:
This build allows you to secure relics, control the map, and set up a strong eco for the late game.
