Gold Rush is an open land map with a lot of gold on the middle hill. This map is perfect for players who like to fight in one area and focus more on micro than multitasking. The middle hill is controlled by many aggressive wild animals, which will delay early aggression.

Practice your Dark Age efficiency and stick to a solid build order.
Prioritize managing your own economy over damaging your opponent’s.
Avoid going through the middle with foot units early on, or make sure to avoid the wild animals.
You can use the wild animals to your advantage by luring as many of them to your opponent’s base with one Spearman, let’s call it a “wolf rush”.
Don’t overboom, this map is a lot about map control.
Never idle your Town Center.
Take safer resources, ideally those located toward the back of your base.
Once your early game build order is finished, secure your base in the Feudal Age with walls in front of your base.
Scout your opponent well and adapt your strategy accordingly.
Play to your civilization’s strengths, whether it’s military units or economic bonuses.
Don’t hesitate to build a defensive tower in Feudal Age, dying with 200 stone in the bank is a waste!
In Castle Age, play for map control and punish greedy booms with a forward castle.
Use castles to control the middle hill as the game progresses.
If your opponent controls the middle, you can try to get it back by controlling the ring-shaped hill around it, or do side pushes at his base avoiding the center fight.
