1. Place Your Extra Town Centers Mostly on Wood

  • Your first extra Town Center (TC) should 95% of the time be built on a good woodline.

  • Think of this TC as a big lumber camp, it will protect your wood resource and make wood gathering more efficient.

2. Always Set Your Rally Points to Wood

  • In Castle Age, never set your TC rally points to anything other than wood.

  • Wood is always useful, so this makes your eco management easier and safer.

  • You can “select all TCs” and set their rally points to a good woodline at once.

  • When you need to rebalance, just select some villagers on wood and move them to other resources as needed.

3. Managing Multiple Woodlines

  • Even if you have a TC on gold or stone, keep their rally points on wood.

  • When one woodline is getting crowded, select some wood villagers and build a new lumber camp on a fresh woodline.

  • Then set the rally point of your TCs to that new woodline to avoid over-saturation and maximize efficiency.

Example:

You have many villagers on wood, but you want to build a castle quickly, which requires stone.

  • Select 10-15 wood villagers, build a mining camp on stone, and send them to mine stone.

  • This approach is quick, simple, and efficient.
