Map Presentation:

Shrubland is a semi-closed land map that usually turns out into more defensive games in the feudal age. It’s full of berries all over the map which help in the early game. This map is perfect for boom enjoyers who love to spam units later on.

  • Practice your Dark Age efficiency and stick to a solid build order.

  • Prioritize managing your own economy over damaging your opponent’s.

  • Never idle your Town Center.

  • Secure your base early with short walls connecting to your Town Center.

  • Check for holes in the woodlines.
  • Scout your opponent well and adapt your strategy accordingly.

  • Don’t hesitate to build a defensive tower in Feudal Age, dying with 200 stone in the bank is a waste!

  • Take stone early on if needed, a few towers will protect all your base and it’s also good to spam town centers on the berries.
  • Keep expanding your eco with town centers around the map, it’s easy to produce vills with all the free food.
  • Make stable units mostly, other units can’t run under the town centers to raid as there isn’t much space for units to move around the map.

  • Use castles to control key hills as the game progresses.

  • Start adding farms whenever you have extra wood, it’s important long term.
  • Remember to raid in the imperial age.

Suggested Gameplan:

Dark Age:

  • Focus on executing your build order.

  • Scout your map properly to find key resources and walling potential.

Feudal Age:

  • Complete your build order and start walling your base once your main goal is achieved.

  • Add counter units based on what your opponent is creating.

Castle Age:

  • Build a second Town Center on a good woodline and a third one on berries.

  • Add more counter units as needed.

  • Take stone with a few villagers and put more and more town centers on berries while doing army (race to 200 pop)

  • Once you gain map control, take a lot of stone and look to drop a forward castle near your opponent to hit his base.
