Map Presentation

Loch Ness is an hybrid map that features both land and water action.
Each match can play out differently, as players may prioritize water or land based on situational factors.

A solid build order is essential, making this a great map to practice the early game and improve your multitasking skills.

Check the hybrid maps guide for more informations.

    • Practice your Dark Age efficiency and stick to a solid build order.

    • Avoid getting housed early, your production will be high.

    • Don’t over invest into fishing ships, they are very exposed
    • Never idle your Town Center.

    • Prioritize a well-placed lumber camp, wood is your most important resource.

    • Place your houses in order to wall to the town center long term
    • Don’t hesitate to build a defensive tower in Feudal Age, dying with 200 stone in the bank is a waste!

    • Once you click the Feudal Age, reduce the number of villagers on food. Prioritize wood instead, so you can make more buildings.

    • Always make atleast one hulk ship no matter what to protect your fish or attack the opponent’s fish.
    • Always spend your wood
    • Make more boats to fight in the feudal age no matter what your strategy is.
    • Click “fishing line” uprade if your fishing ships are untouched.
    • Wall the middle crossing if you won the water and keep some boats so opponent can’t cross

    • If you won the water, patrol some boats to spot the redocks.
  •
    • Pick up the relics on the side, it can win you the late game

Recommended Build Orders

For begginers I recommend:

  • Fast Castle knights with fishing ships picking up the relics

For mid elos I recommend:

  • man at arms (land oriented)
  • man at arms (water oriented)

For Higher levels I recommend:

  • Fast feudal water fight into adapt on land (counter units)
  • Instant drush into dock into maa + archers + water (with a good early dark age civ like persians)

For some fun and a challenging build order:

  • Forward with men at arms, tower and some boats to fight water.
