-
Practice your Dark Age blocking skills with the horse.
- Make the town center right away outside of the “mud”, don’t look for a woodline
- Focus on constant villager production, the map is messy.
- Pick a good early dark age civ, any bonus is welcome (lithuanians extra food, huns no houses…)
- Research loom right away, prepare houses with 1 villager and get only one single boar with the other villager
- Keep things simple, take boars 1 by 1 and make sure you don’t allow your opponent to steal yours
- Spam click with your villager if the opponent is blocking you
- Keep the horse next to his boars, you may be able to block him going left and right in front of his villager.
- Don’t panic if your opponent has more boars, he will screw up his eco.
- Shoot the boars with the Town center.
- Make a mill on deers in the back of your base
-
Prioritize managing your own economy over damaging your opponent’s.
-
Never idle your Town Center.
-
Take safer resources, ideally those located toward the back of your base.
-
Secure your base early with short walls connecting to your Town Center.
-
Scout your opponent well and adapt your strategy accordingly.
-
Play to your civilization’s strengths, whether it’s military units or economic bonuses.
-
Don’t hesitate to build a defensive tower in Feudal Age, dying with 200 stone in the bank is a waste!
-
In Castle Age, play for map control and punish greedy booms with a forward castle.
-
Use castles to control key hills as the game progresses.
